PRAY FOR THE PERSECUTED CHURCH: . PRAY FOR ISRAEL:
Persecution of Christians is at a record level. Harassment, persecution, and martyrdom will increase, as the return of Jesus for His church (the Gathering of Believers, or the Rapture/ Resurrection) nears. Be strong, pray, and help those facing the wrath of God's enemies. Mission work, which includes spread of the Gospel and harvesting of souls for the Kingdom, is the most important task set before a Christian and a Christian church in the last days. Do not be confused about what you as a Christian must do. You are to tell others of God's grace and Jesus' sacrifice for our sins. Read Jesus' Parable of the Sheep and Goats, including Matthew 25:31-36, 40: [Jesus said] "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.' | And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'"

We are witnessing the unfolding of God's end-time plans, as foretold in numerous Old and New Testament prophecies. All end-time prophecies hinge on God's chosen people (the Jews), His Holy City (Jerusalem), and His covenant land (Israel), and how other (non-Jewish) people deal with them. These prophecies, being fulfilled daily, warn of persecution of Jews. All Israel is at risk. We are commanded to pray for Jerusalem(Psalm 122:6): Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May they prosper who love you...." AND (Isaiah 62:6-7): I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem, who shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the LORD, do not keep silent, and give Him no rest till He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
Pray for Jews under persecution and intimidation by Muslims, Hindus, and godless peoples— including the humanists and atheists of Europe and the United Nations. Pray for Israelis "imprisoned" by fear and violence. Pray for comfort for those hurt by violence (Hebrews 13:3): Remember the prisoners as if chained with them, and those who are mistreated, since you yourselves are in the body also.
Pray for the smallest, weakest among us who are persecuted by being put to death— unborn babies. In America alone, approximately 1.3-million babies will be aborted this year. Pray that their mothers will seek alternatives to abortion. Pray that Godly persons, who will love them and try to protect them and their babies, will come into their lives. Pray that women who do have abortions will find churches, pastors, and Christians who will help them heal their grief and seek to walk in the fullness of life, joy, and useful service for others and God. Pray that you will boldly proclaim the truth.

Israel is torn by violence, hatred, and mistrust. Pray for unity in Israel, that Jews, Christians, and Arabs may live together in harmony. (Psalm 133:1): Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
[Jesus taught] "You are the light of the world." (Matthew 5:14a). Pray that God will use your light to reflect the true Light, Jesus, and make a difference in your dark community, nation, and world. Weak Christians have given the world to Satan, allowing harassment, persecution, and martyrdom. Fight back with the gifts, armor, and weapons God has given you.

Some Orthodox Jews in Israel are expecting the soon appearance of HaMashiach, the Messiah, but the majority of secular Jews seem unconcerned about this event. Pray that Jews will await the coming of Messiah with great anticipation and preparation, and that they will come to realize that their long-awaited Messiah is Yeshua— Jesus. (Matthew 24:30): [Jesus said] "Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with great power and great glory."

Israel is surrounded by hostile Islamic nations and terrorist groups within these nations which have a common purpose— the total destruction of Israel as a nation and the expulsion of Jews and Christians from "their" land. Israel is outnumbered many times over by her enemies, all armed with sophisticated weapons (including weapons of mass destruction). However, Israel will always have One more on her side than will her enemies, and that One is the Almighty God who will ensure victory for His people. Read the promises in Isaiah, chapter 62, including verses 1-2a: For Zion's sake I will not hold My peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burns. The Gentiles shall see your righteousness, and all kings your glory.... Also, read Ezekiel, chapter 37, in which the prophet saw: (1)-dry bones coming together to become flesh-covered, living people (fulfilled by the return of Jews from the Diaspora to Israel in 1948); and (2) two sticks–- "For Judah... and for Israel..." and "For Joseph... and for Ephraim..."— joined together as a single stick (Isreal), never again to be divided, that all nations will know that Israel's redemption comes from the LORD, that Israel will be made holy, and that God's sanctuary will be established there forever. (This prophecy was partially fulfilled by the establishment of Israel in 1948, but will not be complete until Jesus the Messiah returns and New Jerusalem [Heaven] descends to earth one millennium later.) Pray for God's protection of Israel from her enemies. If you are a Christian, thank and praise Him that you have been grafted into His eternal Kingdom (Romans 11:11-36).
Pray that God will use you to help heal your nation. God has told us that only "My people who are called by My name" can pray to save a nation (2 Chronicles 7:14): [The LORD said] "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

Only a small number of Jews— Messianic Jews— accept Jesus (Yeshua) as Savior. (John 14:6): [Jesus said] "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Pray for evangelical efforts in Israel, that the Holy Spirit's power will descend upon that land in order that Jews and Arabs will accept Jesus as Savior and become one in the Body of the One New Man (Ephesians 2:10-22).
Prayer especially for Americans:Pray for harassed (and soon-to-be persecuted?) Christians in the United States.
Pray that the efforts of liberal civil liberty groups will be thwarted in limiting free exercise of Christian worship. Pray that courts will apply the Constitution, rather than legislating from the bench and using liberal political ideology. Pray that First Amendment rights of Americans and, especially, Christians will not be taken away.
Pray for leaders in authority (2 Timothy 2:1-4):
Pray that the Holy Spirit will descend in a mighty way upon President Obama, and that he will seek to do only the will of the Triune God— God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Pray that he will appoint men and women to the Supreme Court, who fear and seek to follow the Lord.
Pray that the Holy Spirit will descend in a mighty way upon the Congress, and that our elected legislators will put aside petty squabbles and personal ambitions, to serve the Lord and the people who depend upon their honesty, integrity, and judgment.
Pray that the Holy Spirit will descend in a mighty way upon the Supreme Court, and that the justices will preserve the Constitution and especially that they not abridge Christians' rights in favor of fanciful, convoluted arguments that make a mockery of the documents upon which the United States was founded.
Pray for state and local government leaders, that they will respect, honor, and obey the Lord in all that they do.

People in Israel, both Jews and Arabs, live in fear— fear of terrorists' attacks and even war. Pray for God's comfort for His children, that the evil plans of homicide bombers or attack by Iran or other terrorist nations will be thwarted, and that peace may come to this troubled land (Isaiah 40: 1-2a): "Comfort, yes, comfort My people!" says your God. "Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned...."
Pray that your church and churches throughout the world will stand up for freedom to worship and will reach out in love to help those who are being persecuted and martyred. It is up to Christians to reform a nation, if God's healing is expected (2 Chronicles 7:14): [The LORD said] "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
Read Revelation, chapters 2 and 3, especially Revelation 3:7-22. Is your church like the church at Philadelphia, working hard to spread the Gospel and reach out to a hurting world— a church which Jesus loves? Or, is your church like the church at Laodicea, working mainly on self-centered programs and doing little to spread the Gospel and reach out to a hurting world— a church which Jesus detests? If your church is a Laodicean type of church, is it possible for you to help change it rapidly to a Philadelphian type of church? If not, is it time for you to join a Philadelphian type of church, and get serious about reaching others for the Kingdom of God? Jesus said, "Follow Me," not "Join a church." Time may be short. Be actively working for the Lord, when He returns, not just "playing church." Make plans to go— with your entire family— to church tomorrow, to worship God and seek His way for your life. Pray that you are following God's wishes in your worship of and service to Him. After prayer, listen for God's answer.

This day is Shabbat (the Sabbath) in Israel. Shabbat is the day of the week set aside by God for His people to rest and seek peace (recorded in the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20:8-11, including verse 11b): ...Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it. Pray for Shabbat shalom (the peace of the Sabbath) for God's chosen people (Jews), His Holy City (Jerusalem), His covenant land (Israel), and His children engrafted into His chosen land (Christians). Pray that we all may know God's peace through Jesus Christ in our lives (Philippians 4:6-7): Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
